In our community, our Athletic Director, Coach Smith, has done more than his job; he has created a legacy that impacts students, families, and our community positively. His dedication, leadership, and genuine care for the student-athletes he mentors have shaped the lives of so many young men. However, despite his immense contribution, he has currently been placed on administrative leave due to showing tough love,  leaving a void in our athletic programs and in the hearts of students and parents alike.

Tough love is not a reason to put someone  on administrative leave. Using curse words in front of minors who say much worse, IS NOT A REASON TO PUT SOMEONE ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE. This man has a heart of gold, and these kids love and adore him and what he brings to the table. 

Throughout this football season, we have witnessed his unwavering commitment to molding our young athletes into not just better players, but better individuals. He has worked tirelessly beyond his official duties, spending countless evenings and weekends fostering an environment where students can thrive, learn valuable life lessons, and feel part of a supportive community. His leadership not only improved the skills of our athletes but built their confidence and character.

Notably, the Athletic Director's programs have increased student participation in sports, emphasized the importance of teamwork, and significantly improved overall student morale. The impact is clear, and it is vital for us to realize the importance of his role in our school district.

The administrative leave has unfortunately interrupted the continuity and progress of the school’s athletic program. It is crucial that our district leaders recognize the value of reinstating him not only for the continuity of past successes but for the future of our students' personal and athletic growth.

The need for such a committed and compassionate leader is ever more significant in our community where sports act as a cornerstone for many students, often providing opportunities to excel beyond the classroom. Removing such a pivotal figure risks not only losing momentum in these programs but also the trust and community spirit he has diligently built.

We urge the school district to reevaluate this decision and have an open dialogue with stakeholders to ensure decisions reflect the best interest of all students involved.
