Reinstate Original McFlurry Cups for Safer Transportation

The Issue

I find myself bothered by an issue that initially seems small but has grown to greatly affect my everyday life - the design of the current McFlurry cups. As a big fan of McFlurry, I used to enjoy the treat on the way home. Unfortunately, the recent change in packaging has resulted in my car being a mess and my purse ruined. The updated cups often collapse and spill contents prior to arriving home.

For a company as large as McDonald's, that serves approximately 69 million customers worldwide daily, even a seemingly trivial change like this can snowball into a widespread issue. It becomes a concern for not only me, but countless McFlurry lovers who simply wanted to take their treats home. Aside from the distress and inconvenience, it potentially contributes to more waste as customers may resort to using extra napkins or plastic bags to prevent the problem.

We certainly understand that designs evolve for various reasons - cost efficiency, eco-friendliness, or simply to offer a refresh. However, McDonald's has a responsibility to ensure that any alterations in product packaging do not negatively affect the consumer experience. We believe there must be a way to reconcile innovation and customer satisfaction.

I, and many others, kindly ask McDonald's to reconsider the design of the McFlurry cups, and ideally revert back to the original structure that does not collapse and cause unnecessary mess. By doing so, they would reaffirm their commitment to customer satisfaction. Please sign the petition to echo our call and help bring the change. I am not lovin’ it.
