Mr. Hovey has been an exemplary teacher and leader for decades. He began inspiring students as a band teacher in 1990. Over his 35 years of educational service, he has not only been a teacher but an Assistant Principal and Principal. He has always shifted where the need was and he has been changing lives everywhere he goes. He has positively influenced thousands of students, as well as been a pleasure to work beside for hundreds of his colleagues. 

 

     Unfortunately, with just a couple of years away from retirement, CJUSD has wrongfully and without explanation demoted our beloved Mr. Hovey. After his decades of service to many schools and countless students, he should be finishing his last couple of years doing what he has worked for. However, CJUSD board members have made a decision to demote him without cause or reason. 

     We are asking for your help to sign this petition, pass it along to others, and be a part of a movement to get Mr. Hovey reinstated back to his former position of leadership. 

    If you can, please write an email to the board to share your positive experiences of Mr. Hovey and consider coming out to the next board meeting to stand in unity with us as we speak to the board.
