Mr. Raychouni is an amazing person who lives in Powhatan, Virginia, and works for Powhatan County Public Schools at Powhatan Middle School as a teacher. He also has a very extensive background in theatre and the arts, which led him to volunteer countless hours with the Powhatan High School Theatre Department. This year he was the Theatre Director for Powhatan High School, as they put on the production of Hadestown Teen Edition, which was approved one year in advance by Powhatan High School Admin. He was dismissed from the director position by two admin, one which was an interim principal who is no longer with Powhatan County Public Schools. One reason that was given was inappropriate language.   As a parent who listened to this production several times in practice only, I heard the word "hell."  Sadly they hear worse in school or at home. The other complaint was the drinking scene, which again was completely fake obviously and APPROVED by admin a year in advance.

Mr. Raychouni has spent countless hours with these children. He has helped them with their confidence and is there for them if and when they ever need anything. Through this production he committed to long days and nights, drove hours to pick up a part of the set.

This petition is to get Mr. Raychouni back as Theatre Director for Powhatan High School where he belongs. Our children deserve the best, which is Mr. Raychouni.
