Reinstate MCAS as a Graduation Requirement in Massachusetts

The Issue

As an advocate for high-quality education in Massachusetts, I have experienced first-hand the benefits of stringent educational standards. The MCAS—one of the keys to our success—has been recently removed as a graduation requirement, endangering the credibility of our diplomas. The MCAS presents us with a common set of standards ensuring equity in education statewide, and reinforcing the value of a Massachusetts diploma. According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), Massachusetts has consistently ranked at the top in terms of education standards, largely attributed to the implementation of MCAS. Without the MCAS, we run the risk of jeopardizing this reputation we've proudly built over the years. Henceforth, let's unite with the shared belief in the value of our education, and voice our demand to reinstate MCAS as a graduation requirement. Your signature on this petition can demonstrate our commitment to maintaining the highest education standards in our great state.
