As passionate users of Linux Mint, we have come to appreciate the stability, user-friendliness, and community that this distribution provides. However, we miss the KDE desktop environment which was available in earlier versions of Linux Mint. This personal plea comes from a deep appreciation for the diversity and flexibility that KDE offers.

The KDE desktop environment is known for its adaptability and extensive customization options. According to a survey by Opensource.com, it was voted as one of the most popular desktop environments with 14% preference rate among Linux users (Opensource.com, 2020). We believe reinstating it would cater to this significant percentage of users who prefer using KDE on their systems.

We kindly request that you consider releasing an official version of Linux Mint with the KDE desktop environment. This would not only enhance our user experience but also enrich the diversity of desktop environments available on Linux Mint.
