We are the Africa4Haiti Initiative, and it is with a profound sense of our shared history and collective future that we pen this petition. As the 1st African Civil Society striving to leverage Africa's rich legacy of liberation and resilience, we report an urgent plea. We appeal to the African Union Economic, Social and Cultural Council (AU ECOSOC) to support our endeavour to reinstate Haiti as an Observer State.

As the backdrop for our cause, understand that Haiti conveys an immense cultural and historical weight, being the first black republic in the world. This republic was born out of a successful revolt against oppression, a beacon of inspiration for the entire African diaspora. Yet today, Haiti is suffering from severe political, security, and humanitarian crises. A stronger intervention is required to facilitate their recovery, an intervention that can be made possible with its reinstatement to the African Union. This move will strengthen the diplomatic ties between Africa and Haiti, increasing solidarity, cooperation and greatly aiding in the resolution of the multiple crises besetting the island nation.

Reinstatement will also re-render a platform to Haiti, enabling their voice and concerns to be heard on an international stage. This merging of voices is not a novelty but a reinstatement of a bond severed by unfortunate circumstances.

We therefore urge AU ECOSOC to heed to this call and extend support to our petition. We firmly believe that it is our inherent responsibility as Africans to stand in solidarity with our Haitian brothers and sisters, to advocate and act for their reinstatement. It is a call to action that is deeply rooted in our shared history of struggle, resilience, and prevailing against all odds.
