This petition is deeply personal, revolving around a matter of national security that touched us on Tuesday at Manchester Airport, demonstrating the dire need for justice. Policemen have an incredible responsibility to protect our society, and one brave officer significantly lived up to this role. He heroically restrained a terrorist, ensuring the safety of hundreds. However, instead of being praised, he faced unjust treatment and has been temporarily relieved from his duties.

According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, about 58,866 law enforcement officers were assaulted in the line of duty in 2018. Our officer was not only physically engaged with a known terrorist offender but was also emotionally victimized by the system that should support him.

We demand the immediate reinstatement of this officer to his full duties, accompanied by a full apology for the inappropriate treatment he faced. We vehemently insist on the prosecution of the terrorist offenders arrested at Manchester Airport.
