Tragically, these game websites were removed at High Point Regional High School, leaving students like me without this small motivation and reward for completing our tasks. Let's not overlook the importance of balance in a student's life – yes, studies are important, but so is a brief escape, which these games provided. According to the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, well-managed recreational activities can boost a student's stress management and problem-solving skills (source: AACAP). I firmly believe that the thoughtful reintroduction of these websites, perhaps alongside educational games, can be a beneficial tool in our education system. Let us seek balance and inspire students to pursue their academic work with the promise of a little fun afterward.
