If you are a NYS resident and are a dog or cat lover, we need your signature. We all love our pets, many of which have been adopted from local animal shelters.  These local animal shelters also help to care for lost, unwanted and abused animals in our areas.  The State of New York, in its most recent budget, has cut the Companion Animal Capital Fund from $8 million to $5 million.  Throughout NYS, several animal shelters have applied for grant funding through the Companion Animal Capital Projects Fund to cover the costs of capital projects.  These capital improvement projects have helped to modernize our existing animal shelters and increase their capacity to provide countless homeless pets the care and shelter they need until they find their forever home.

Homeless pets need our protection and with your signature, we will let Governor Kathy Hochul, Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie know that we want ALL of this funding reinstated.
