The issue

In 2025, I was honoured to participate in the Invictus Games, an event that changed my life and the lives of countless others. As a Veteran, I have firsthand experience of the immense power and support that Invictus Australia offers through its community sports initiatives. These programs have been a beacon of hope, offering a sense of purpose and camaraderie that is often missing after military service. Many lives, including my own, have been transformed by this opportunity to feel 'Unconquered.'

Unfortunately, the Australian Government's decision to remove funding for Invictus Australia in the 2026 / 2027 Federal Budget threatens this essential lifeline. This funding is crucial for Invictus Australia to continue its mission of enhancing the well-being of Veterans and their families. Through sports and community engagement, Veterans find healing, resilience, and a renewed sense of belonging. Without this funding, many Veterans face the risk of isolation, mental health struggles, and a loss of purpose.

Australia's Veterans have given so much in service to our country, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure they receive the support they deserve upon returning to civilian life. Cutting financial support to Invictus Australia undermines this responsibility and jeopardizes the future of programs that save lives.

I urge you to join me in calling on the Australian Government to reinstate funding to Invictus Australia. Securing this financial support is not merely an investment in programs, but an investment in lives—strengthening our Veteran community and honouring their sacrifices.

Please sign this petition to send a message to our lawmakers that we stand with our Veterans and support their journey to remain Unconquered, through Invictus Australia.
