Frida, a dedicated and passionate volunteer, has been unjustly removed from her role as a food waste hero on the OLIO app due to an unfortunate misunderstanding. For three years, she devoted countless hours to distributing food that would otherwise have gone to waste, directly into the hands of those who needed it most in London.

Frida's account was terminated by OLIO because their system mistakenly flagged her for having dual accounts. In reality, she was assisting her neighbour with their OLIO app. Despite this being a clear misunderstanding, no effort was made by OLIO to contact Frida and allow her an opportunity to clarify the situation before terminating her account.

This abrupt action not only affects Frida but also impacts the community in London that relies on these redistributed resources. According to WRAP UK (Waste & Resources Action Programme), 9.5 million tonnes of food waste is generated each year in UK households alone - much of which could be redistributed through platforms like OLIO.

We believe that reinstating Frida will not only rectify this personal injustice but also contribute significantly towards reducing food waste and supporting our local communities in need.
