This creates a frustrating situation where residents are punished without having access to an affordable method of disposal. It seems unfair that we're expected to both pay excessive fees and manage the risk of incurring fines all because there's no accessible system provided by the city.

Other cities across the country have successfully implemented free or low-cost bulk pick-up programs to assist their communities. Fairfax County, Virginia, for example, provides free bulk waste collection twice a year, ensuring that their residents have the means to responsibly dispose of large items. Adopting a similar model in our community would reduce illegal dumping, beautify our neighborhoods, and relieve financial pressure on our residents.

We propose that our local government reinstate a free or at least significantly reduced-fee bulk item pick-up program. Such a service would empower residents, helping them keep their properties clean without fear of fines or financial hardship.
