I'm a dedicated follower of Family Guy, a widely popular animated sitcom that aired on TBS and Adult Swim from 2003 to 2021. The decision to move 'Family Guy' away from these outlets has ruffled the feathers of its fanbase and fundamentally altered the viewing practices of many, including myself.

Family Guy is an American animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane for Fox. The series premiered on January 31, 1999, following Super Bowl XXXIII, with the rest of the first season airing from April 11, 1999. The show centers around the Griffins, a dysfunctional family consisting of parents Peter and Lois, their children, Meg, Chris, and Stewie, and their anthropomorphic pet dog, Brian. Set in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island, the show exhibits much of its humor in the form of metafictional cutaway gags that often lampoon American culture. The series is produced by Fuzzy Door Productions, in association with 20th Television Animation. The series is distributed by Disney Entertainment.

Family Guy is now airing on Paramount's Comedy Central as of September 2, 2024. It no longer resonates with the comedic vibe that watchers have come to associate with TBS and Adult Swim networks. What's more disheartening is that 'Bob's Burgers', another animated sitcom, didn't leave Adult Swim in 2023, but left TBS on August 25, 2023 and syndication on September 1, 2024.

But there's room for change if we push hard enough. A broadcast syndication agreement between Warner Bros. Discovery and Disney Entertainment could reroute reruns of Fox's longest running animated show, Family Guy back to Adult Swim. The show will stay while airing new episodes on FOX and airing reruns on FXX and Comedy Central. but the show is no longer airing reruns on TBS, FX, and Freeform.
