We, the dedicated team at Dog and Duck Outwood, provide a unique sanctuary where families and their children can enjoy holiday and weekend fun from noon till 6 pm. Our bouncy activities have brought smiles to countless faces over the years. However, a recent objection from a local resident led to our local council's decision to have these activities removed until further notice and instituted a requirement for an expensive planning permission. This abrupt decision has deprived many children of their much-loved bouncy activity. Nationally, such spaces contribute significantly to the social, emotional, and physical wellbeing of children. A study by the Fields in Trust organisation found that well-equipped play areas provide a safe and inclusive environment where children can play freely and learn essential social skills (Fields in Trust, 2020). Now, this valuable resource is in danger of being lost to bureaucratic red tape. We are calling on the local council to recognise the importance our bouncy activities hold for our community's families and children and reconsider their decision. Sign this petition to support our request to reinstate the fun, playful activities at Dog and Duck Outwood.
