My sister is similar to many hard-working individuals in our community, the only difference is that she was not born here. Every day, she puts in the effort to achieve her dreams. However, in the past, she was uncertain of whether they would let her achieve her dream. It was heartbreaking witnessing the fear she navigated, unsure if she could ever achieve her dreams because of her immigrant status. She was fortunate to receive her visa, but many others are not so fortunate. We believe it's time to correct that by reinstating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in Tucson, Arizona. 

DACA provided around 800,000 young immigrants, who were brought to America as children, a means to stay in their homes, work, and pursue educational aspirations without the fear of deportation. However, this program was stopped, leaving these 'Dreamers' vulnerable. This policy change plunged a significant part of our community into insecurity and fear. Let us change that. Let's fight to reinstate DACA in Tucson so that every aspiring heart, such as my sister's, can beat without the fear of having their dreams ripped away.
