Reinstate Critical Deliveries to our Food Banks

Reinstate Critical Deliveries to our Food Banks
The Issue
The USDA has just cut millions of dollars worth of deliveries to food banks without any explanation. These shipments are critical for millions of families who depend on food banks to put meals on the table. The Department of Agriculture must immediately explain this action and reverse it.
Food banks across the country, including those in California, Delaware, West Virginia, and Ohio, have lost truckloads of expected food. The Central California Food Bank alone is missing 500,000 pounds of food worth $850,000. Without these deliveries, food banks are struggling to meet rising demand at a time when food prices have skyrocketed and SNAP benefits are at risk of being cut.
The USDA previously used the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) fund to support emergency food aid, especially during the pandemic. However, without warning, millions of dollars were pulled back, leaving food banks scrambling. This decision puts millions of Americans at risk of hunger and must be reversed immediately.
We demand that USDA restore these food deliveries, ensure transparency about funding decisions, and commit to long-term, stable support for food assistance programs. Food banks should not be left in the lurch while families go hungry.
Join in calling for immediate action to keep food on the tables of those who need it most!
