Every team needs a leader, someone who stands as a pillar of strength, direction, and inspiration. For us, the New Bern High School football team, that person is Coach Saxby. I am one of his players, and I can say with certainty that Coach Saxby is not only our coach, but also our role model and guide. His recent suspension has left us going into our next game 9/12 without the one we all look to for support, motivation, and guidance.

Coach Saxby has been unjustly suspended based on allegations that neither align with his character nor reflect his contributions to our team and school community. As players, parents, and community members who truly know Coach Saxby, we stand by the fact that he has done nothing wrong. He has consistently demonstrated integrity, dedication, and a genuine commitment to each one of his players, helping us to grow not only as athletes but as individuals.

In an age where positive role models are scarce, Coach Saxby has been a beacon of hope and values, instilling discipline, respect, and teamwork in all of us. It's vital for us, the students, parents, and community members of New Bern, NC, to come together to correct this mistake.

We urge the decision-makers at New Bern High School and the broader educational board to consider the substantial impact Coach Saxby has on our lives and the community. By reinstating him, you will not only be correcting an injustice but reaffirming the values of fairness and community spirit.
