I want to share a quick clarification about this issue. The flag football league is a private organization and isn’t overseen by a public body, so public officials don’t have jurisdiction over league personnel decisions.

That said, it was encouraging to see constructive outreach: the Mayor contacted the petition starter to listen, learn more about the situation, and—depending on what he hears—help point advocates toward the most appropriate channels for being heard by league leadership.
