We, those signing this presented document, are among the Football Players and those associated with the Long Beach Vikings community, and we respectfully submit this petition in support of bringing Coach Brett Peabody back onto the coaching staff for the Long Beach City College Vikings.

Coach Peabody has been a significant and positive influence on our team and community. Throughout his tenure with us, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and a true, burning passion for helping athletes develop both their skills and character. Under Coach Peabody’s guidance, the team has not only achieved remarkable successes on the field - having taken home Five bowl titles and Four conference titles respectively - but has also fostered an environment of mutual respect, discipline, and teamwork. Coach Peabody will go out of his way to ensure that players are not only safe on and off campus, but feel welcomed in the community, immediately upon meeting him. Coach Peabody has went out of his way to offer players help with medical treatment, taking care of their physical and mental health as well, fostering a truly thriving environment among the football players

We believe that Coach Peabody embodies the values of Long Beach City College, and has played an integral role in the development of our athletes, both on and off the field. His commitment to the personal and athletic growth of every individual has made a lasting impact, and his return would be a great benefit to our program. The chemistry Coach Peabody has been able to build with this current team, former teams, and can build with the teams incoming is outmatched. 

The reasons we request the reinstatement of Coach Peabody include, but are not limited to:

Proven Track Record: Coach Peabody has led our team to winning the following championships in their respective years:
Conference Championships: 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019

Bowl Game Championships: 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019

Positive Influence: His leadership style promotes respect, hard work, and perseverance, instilling values that extend beyond sports. Coach Peabody’s leadership is more than just shouting orders on the field, he goes out of his way to look after every single player on the team.

Community Support: Coach Peabody has fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among athletes, parents, and alumni. For twelve years he has been the Head Coach for the Vikings.

Unwavering Dedication: The time and effort Coach Peabody has invested into developing the team and individual athletes is absolutely unparalleled. This is more than just a job to Coach Peabody. He is a leader.

Team Morale: The team has thrived under Coach Peabody's mentorship, and many players attribute their growth to his coaching methods.

We respectfully ask that the administration reconsider their decision and bring Coach Peabody back to our team. We believe that with Coach Peabody’s leadership, our team will continue to grow and succeed in ways that will make our school and community proud.
