We, the parents, students, alumni, and supporters of Sam Houston Math, Science, and Technology Center, stand together to ask that Coach Matt Cook be reinstated as head baseball coach.

Coach Cook has been a true leader — not only transforming the school’s baseball program but also making a lasting impact on the lives of students both on and off the field. He cares deeply for these kids, showing up for them when others wouldn’t, holding them accountable, and helping them believe in their own potential.

For many families, Coach Cook has been the reason we chose to keep our children enrolled at Sam Houston. His leadership has brought unity, discipline, and pride to a school that for too long struggled to provide students with mentors who genuinely cared.

Removing Coach Cook not only sets back the progress made in the baseball program but also takes away one of the few role models consistently dedicated to our kids’ success.

We urge the Sam Houston High School administration and HISD leadership to reconsider this decision and allow Coach Cook to continue his vital work with our students.

Let’s stand together to bring Coach Cook back.
