Coach Dean A. McCown has been more than just a coach. He has been a respected mentor, a pillar of support, a symbol of leadership, and a friend to all who have had the honor of knowing him. His humor and caring nature have left a positive impact on all the students during his years at Fallbrook High School.

After being unexpectedly fired from his role  as the Fallbrook High School football coach due to minor foul language, it has left a void not only in our football team but also in our community. His leadership on the field fostered not only sportsmanship  but also taught life lessons that went beyond football.

We acknowledge the importance of accountability and transparency within school systems. However, in light of Coach Dean’s proven dedication and passion, it is crucial to reconsider his removal. It is clear that there are alternative solutions, as Fallbrook High School has done so in the past. On multiple occasions, incidents that present a more severe problem have been left unresolved and dismissed by Fallbrook Union School District. Why now, when something that is done every day by students and staff across campuses, does it result in immediate dismissal? 

We urge those who make decisions and the people in power to carefully review the circumstances and the overwhelming support for Coach Dean’s reinstatement.
