Reinstate Coach Corn: a Fight for Beloved Raider Kendric Cornelius
The Issue
Mr. Kendric Cornelius, a pillar of Bolingbrook High School and the greater Bolingbrook community, has become the subject of an unfair and suspiciously-expedited investigation following a brief interaction with a student last week.
It should be noted that the student and their parent have zero issue with Mr. Cornelius or the interaction. However, the actions of an unaffiliated third party have turned this in-house matter into something that is in the hands of the Valley View School District administration.
It has come to our attention that Kendric is no longer able to begin his new role at Jane Addams Middle School or continue serving as a coach in multiple programs at BHS next year as a result of this ordeal. No explanation for these actions has been provided to Mr. Cornelius at this time.
To know Ken is to know that no one represents the best of Bolingbrook like him. He is an ambassador for our school to the local community that truly believes in and embodies the motto “Honor Bolingbrook, Honor the Raiders”. So many kids would be losing a trusted adult, coach and mentor if he is not able to return.
In addition, the lack of transparency is deeply concerning. If the student who was involved in this matter has no issue and is even supporting Kendric, there is no need to take everything away from a man that has given everything to Bolingbrook High School in all that he does.
We are simply asking for your signature in support of Mr. Cornelius being reinstated to his positions at JAMS and BHS; the website will ask for monetary donations for its own personal gain, but it is not required on our end. With your help, we hope to show Valley View admin that Kendric has the full, unwavering support of the Bolingbrook High School community.
