The Issue

Clock is being removed, let's reinstate it!

Clock is (for now) an official WCA event. The WCA is the world cube association, which classes the fastest times in certain events or categories of puzzles. The adding and removing of events is not very conmon, with the last one happening in 2014, with the addition of Skewb. As for removals, 3x3 with feet was removed in 2019 due to hygiene reasons and magic was removed due to not being a twisty puzzle and always being the same. Clock has been held since the founding of the WCA, first being held in 2003. Since 2003, it has been held at numerous competitions and over 31 thousand people have competed in it. Take it from one of those people

"My name Is Mauricio Arias, from Colombia. I started on clock 2 and a half years ago, and it has really changed me. I tried new cubes but stopped doing then after some time, but when i bought my first clock, everything changed. It was something new and different, a new Challenge. I quickly started grinding like crazy, going from 10s global to 4,3 In just 8 months, even getting double NR In the same comp! Clock should be kept In the WCA because it Is am event that didn't really get enough Time to develop, yes, we have methods like pseudo 7 simul, but if you ask me, since it started to get famous since Worlds 2023, i think there Is still a Lot to work on and it has not showed it's limit. Clock has really changed me, i have Made new friends from the discord server, like eryk, Volo, Santiago cabral and More, and removing it would be removing an event that Is importante for thousands, me included. That Is all i had to say, i hope this wonderfoul does not get removed"

I have also made so many friends through clock. At my first competiton with it, I was immediately hooked. Even if I got a dnf average in round 2, my 30 second average in round 1 was enough to make it to round 2, my first time ever doing so. Later, I get the qiyi clock. As I start to use it, my average drops by 15 seconds. I now averaged around 15. This sudden drop in speed led me to get a 18 average at my next competiton. I was hooked and fell down the rabbit hole. I continued to improve, from 18 to 7. Six rounds in a row, I get PR average, more halving my average. I get a 7 average at my next competiton. At this point, I average 6 seconds. I still struggle but manage to pull through with a 6 second average at worlds'25. After learning 7simul, I have now gotten to a 5.6 average and 15 rounds in a row with a sub 7 average. I have made many friends. Who I have shared laughs and podiums with. Truly, I would love to thank clock for all it has done to me, allowing me to meet some of the best cubers ever. I would love to pass the amount of joy I have had with clock to the younger generation, but sadly, this might not be a reality. This is why I need YOU to share this. Sent it to whoever might sign it. The more the better, 31 000 people. More than 17 countries population. Even if just half enjoyed it. 15 thousand people have gotten enjoyment, and the truth is, I think upwards of 95% would do it again. Again, imagine how many connections can be had and how much joy can be shared. It just takes 2 minutes.
