Reinstate Christie Shinn as a Guest Attendee at FanExpo
Reinstate Christie Shinn as a Guest Attendee at FanExpo
The Issue
Christie Shinn, a once esteemed guest attendee at FanExpo, has been unjustly removed due to allegations and harassment originating from Jim MacQuarrie, Mike Wellman, Don Nguyen, and their associates. Not only did this hostility force FanExpo to withdraw Shinn's standing due to public safety concerns, but these individuals have also publicly accused Shinn of embezzlement. However, these claims were swiftly dismissed by the police as unfounded within a span of three hours.

Despite the prompt resolution, this group has continued their defamation campaign against Shinn, spreading these egregious falsehoods for eight long months, irrefutably constituting libel. This act not only blights Shinn's reputation but also attempts to deprive her of due process by making the issue a public spectacle, rather than properly handling the allegations through the civil courts.
This unjust persecution must face a swift resolution. Christie Shinn’s position should be reinstated at FanExpo. She has the right to carry on with her professional endeavors without being subject to baseless allegations and harassment. Stand with us to uphold justice and the principles of due process. Sign this petition to show your support for Christie Shinn and her restoration as a FanExpo guest attendee.
Also Convention/Show Runners should not show any prejudice against Christie Shinn, and should infact give a life time ban to her accusers, defames, libelers, harassers. As they went on a public Crusade and Smear Campaign, solely upon baseless accusations that amounted to hearsay. This unprofessionality should not be tolerated in the Comics Community.
Her Accusers have no one to blame, except themselves, and especially Jim for dragging them into all this.
Since her accusers intended to ruin her livelihood, it's is only fair the punishment they intended for her, be justly applied to them instead. To be removed from vending, hosting panels, or even otherwise attending Comic Events should be: Jim (James Patrick) MacQuarrie, Don Nguyen (also known as Nguyeningit), Mike Wellman (Security should be notified with a photo for him, not to let him within 70 feet of any convention center), Eddie D'Angelini and his partner Kristen Parraz (Comadres y Comics), Jose Pimenta. As well as Scott Zilner (the host for Pasadena Comic Con, who intentionally Spread this Bilge without Verifying it), and Scott Shaw (for protecting Jim's unethical behaviour). Not only did they fail to verify any of the information (which was easily obtainable by requesting the documents), but abused their positions of power to go after someone on an unsubstantiated allegations. it would also be a good idea to Investigate the depth of Matt Dunford 's involvement and enabling of these people.
This is completely unacceptable, and unprofessional behaviour, showing blatant and discriminatory favourtism to deprive an innocent woman of do process of law. This was all around very mentally disturbed behaviour on the part of her accusers.
