Reinstate and Support Therians and Their Right to Express Themselves
The Issue
For my friend and many others across the world who identify as therians, being their true selves isn't always accepted. Recently, my friend was reported to the principal's office at our school for wearing a tail, signifying their therian identity - despite the dress code containing no explicit restrictions against such expressions. This is but one microcosm of the global misunderstandings and lack of acceptance faced by therians.
Rather than embrace our fellow students' uniqueness, the school chose to suppress it, without an official dress code ban prohibiting therian-related attire. This incident paints the unfair treatment against therians, creating a more extensive issue. It is vital to recognize that Therianthropy is not a whim, but an integral part of the identity of thousands of individuals. There's an entire community, the Therian Guide community, for example, that's home to over 6000 therians who sincerely believe and consistently express they identify as non-human animals on a spiritual, and sometimes physical, level.
We have to address this issue on a broad scale. It's not just about dress codes. We must foster a global understanding and acceptance of Therianthropy, which starts with allowing individuals to express their therian identities freely without the fear of repercussion. Therians should have the right to their therian gear, to express themselves just like anyone else.
By signing this petition, you're standing up for the rights of therians everywhere. Let's make a unified stand to reinstate and support therians and their right to self-expression. Please, show your support by signing the petition.
