Adult volleyball at Eden Parks and Recreation has been a cherished activity for many years, providing a means for exercise, socialization and a sense of local community. However, the decision to discontinue the program has left numerous citizens deprived of this valuable opportunity. According to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association, volleyball is among top 20 activities in America with a high participation rate, highlighting its influence on physical health and fitness for adults (SFIA, 2019). We firmly believe the reintroduction of adult volleyball will bolster community engagement, foster camaraderie, and promote physical wellness among residents. We request Eden Parks and Recreation Department to reconsider their decision and restore the adult volleyball program to its rightful place in our parks.
