Our beloved Oxford Elementary School afterschool LEARNS coordinator, Aaron Grayson, was "released" from his role at the very end of  his probationary period with no cause given.

We need all your support to have him reinstated to the LEARNS coordinator role. He has served BUSD for two decades and has been an incredible influence on our students, especially students of color. He has always displayed the highest level of professionalism. He has always made it a priority to get to know the strengths and areas of need for every child. Not only does he know the children he knows the families and often serves as a bridge between the families and classroom teachers. 

One recent pivotal moment was when a key member of LEARNS staff passed away unexpectedly. The strength and character he displayed in support of his staff some of which are his former Oxford students was unprecedented. While he was grieving the loss of a longtime colleague himself he selflessly supported his staff and students not missing a single day of work and providing space for all to process the loss. This is just one of many examples of his exemplary character and incredible commitment.  

His presence is invaluable for the staff, families and students. We cannot imagine the Oxford community without Aaron Grayson's guidance and support during crucial after-school hours. Please sign this petition to have our afterschool coordinator reinstated!
