My neighbour, an elderly resident on Lavender Rise, takes the bus. Just having a place to sit and be shielded from rain or the harsh sun would make a world of difference for her and many others.
Our community used to benefit from a bus stop shelter on Lavender Rise that provided comfort and protection from the elements. This shelter was a vital facility, especially for our elderly and disabled residents who rely on public transportation for their independence and mobility. Unfortunately, the shelter was knocked down by the bus and removed, and the impact on those who depended on it is both significant and distressing.
