I drove by Minnie for years and never even knew she was inside that cement cage/barn at Cummerford and Sons in Goshen, CT. Elephants are intelligent, social animals who grieve deeply and form strong bonds. Minnie needs elephant interaction and room to move, neither of which she is currently receiving as the only elephant left in Connecticut.

It's heartbreaking to know that Minnie, a majestic elephant, is confined in inadequate living conditions where she cannot thrive emotionally or physically. Elephants like Minnie are known for their intelligence, strong family ties, and the need for mental stimulation and physical activity. Her well-being depends on her ability to interact with other elephants and roam freely, which is impossible in her current situation.

The solution is clear: Minnie must be relocated to an accredited animal sanctuary where she can live out her years with dignity, companionship, and the freedom she deserves. Several sanctuaries across the country specialize in providing elephants with the space and appropriate environment they need.

By relocating Minnie to such a sanctuary, she will no longer be isolated. She will benefit from expert care, social interactions with other elephants, and the expansive habitat necessary for her mental and physical well-being. This move is imperative not only for Minnie but also serves as a precedent for the ethical treatment of animals in captivity.

Sign this petition to urge the responsible authorities and Cummerford and Sons to take immediate action to rehome Minnie to a sanctuary that can cater to her unique needs. Together, we can give Minnie a chance to experience the joy and companionship she has been missing for so long.
