Rehire OGP associate Benjamin Jenkins for wrongful dismissal
The Issue
Benjamin Jenkins is not just an OGP associate; he is a dedicated and hardworking team member, known for his respect, kindness, and willingness to go the extra mile to support his colleagues. Despite dealing with personal challenges outside of the workplace, Ben has consistently maintained a professional demeanor and a positive attitude at work.
Unfortunately, Benjamin was wrongfully terminated due to a regrettable incident where he defended himself against persistent harassment by another employee. This other associate, who had been verbally and physically harassing Ben, ignored his repeated warnings and pushed him to the point where he had no other option but to retaliate in self-defense. In response to the incident, both Ben and the aggressor were dismissed, though Ben's actions were purely to protect himself.
This decision is not only unfair but overlooks the principle of self-defense and fails to consider Benjamin's exemplary record and character as an employee. Terminating someone who is acting to protect themselves sends a dangerous message that should concern every worker who values their right to safety in the workplace.
Benjamin's experience must not be overshadowed by this unfortunate incident. By reinstating him, we can send a positive message about the value of equitable and just treatment in our workplace. It is imperative to reconsider this decision and allow Benjamin to return to his position where he has made significant contributions and is well respected by his peers.
We call on the company’s management to act in the best interest of justice and fairness by reevaluating the circumstances surrounding his termination and reinstating Benjamin Jenkins.
Please sign this petition to support Ben Jenkins and advocate for a fair resolution that upholds the principles of justice and fair treatment in the workplace. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that workplaces remain fair, just, and safe for all employees.
