Several years ago, a seemingly ordinary day in our peaceful Rob Roy subdivision could have turned into a nightmare. A man arrived at the gate of our community, appearing friendly and "normal". However, Officer Fred Williams had a gut feeling about him. Trusting his instincts, he called me. The police were alerted and disaster was averted. That day, Officer Williams prevented this dangerous individual from gaining access to my home where I was protecting two teenage girls who had escaped the violent world of sex trafficking.

Our family owes Fred a debt of gratitude for his intuition that day. His actions exemplify the kind of security we need in our community - vigilant, intuitive and protective.

Rob Roy Homeowners Association (HOA) has contracted Allied Security to oversee our safety needs. Allied has recently fired Officer Williams. We believe it is crucial for the safety of our community that we terminate this month to month contract with Allied Security.

We propose hiring another vetted security company that will engage Officer Williams as their lead officer for our subdivision. This is not just about one family's experience; it's about ensuring all families within Rob Roy feel safe and protected by those tasked with their security.

According to Bureau of Justice Statistics (2018), neighborhoods with dedicated local officers have lower crime rates due to familiarity between residents and officers leading to increased trust and cooperation.

Let us bring back this sense of trust by reinstating Officer Williams as lead officer in charge of security in our neighborhood under an efficient company other than Allied Security. In the meantime, we want Officer Williams to be engaged by Rob Roy as an independent contractor, much like our landscapers or any other direct contractor. We need OW’s expertise to keep our gate repaired and to evaluate what we need in a new security company. This is easy to do and essential to our community safety.
