Rehire Ms. Lilley Now!

Please Help Fight Injustice In Bridgeport Public Schools...
When my daughter entered kindergarten I was scared. She hadn't done daycare or Pre-K and I was worried about Kindergarten being her first experience with school. Enter Sophie Lilley. Watching her click with the parents and children immediately was incredible. Watching my daddy's girl instantly forget all about me to engage with this wonderful new person was all I needed to know that my daughter was gonna be okay.
Turns out okay was an understatement. Under Ms. Lilley's tutelage I watched my daughter flourish. My daughter wasn't alone. Over the year I watched her classmates grow from a shy group of little people into a family of good citizens that love and support one another.
The way she had my daughter ready for first grade before Christmas break was nothing short of astounding. The way I watched Ms. Lilley show up for her kids in and outside of school was nothing short of inspiring. The world needs teachers like Sophie Lilley and I could only imagine the kind of world we would have if her class was a model for all kindergarten classrooms. I watch children who have long since left kindergarten to make it a point to visit her. I've seen children who transferred to other schools come back just to visit.
Every parent I have spoken with has the same glowing impression of Ms. Lilley that I do. Her diligence, and hard work made me feel like I had an ally in the classroom fighting for my child.
That's why when I found out she was being fired I was devastated. Her job was unfairly terminated to make room for another teacher who could very easily meet other needs within the school. As the daughter of an educator who's career goal it be a kindergarten teacher it's vital to the school to keep her where she is. To that effect I ask that you fight with us and sign this petition and call the Bridgeport, CT board of education at 203-275-1000 and tell them to rehire Sophie Lilley today!
