For more than three decades, Dr. Mark Sexton has been the cornerstone of healthcare for over 3,000 patients at Piedmont Physicians at Green Island. Together with Dr. Joseph Lewis, they built the practice from the ground up, consistently delivering excellent care in our community. However, in a shocking decision, Dr. Sexton was recently let go without prior notice, leaving his devoted patients confused and concerned.

Dr. Sexton is more than just a physician; he is a trusted friend and an advocate for quality healthcare. His dedication to his patients has never wavered, even as he faced challenges within the management structure of Piedmont Healthcare. Over the past three years, Dr. Sexton has voiced legitimate concerns regarding short staffing and lack of supplies, issues that directly impact the well-being of patients. Despite these hurdles, he continued to provide outstanding care.

It's undeniable that Dr. Sexton's absence will be felt profoundly. The community deserves transparency and accountability from Piedmont Healthcare in this matter. We call upon Piedmont Healthcare to reconsider their decision and reinstate Dr. Mark Sexton to ensure continuity of care for thousands of patients who rely on his expertise and compassion. Our healthcare system should not penalize those who champion better practices and advocate for their patients. Dr. Sexton’s employment at Piedmont Physicians at Green Island should be restored immediately for the benefit of all involved.
