Rehang Emmitt Smith’s All-Time Leading Rusher Banner at the Cowboys AT&T Stadium

The Issue

In 2002, Emmitt Smith of the Dallas Cowboys, broke Walter Payton’s rushing record. In his honor, the Cowboys hung a banner in Texas Stadium to commemorate this historic feat.

But since opening the new Cowboys stadium, the banner has been missing. Not even Emmitt himself knows why the banner isn’t hung. To become the all-time leading rusher is one of the most prestigious records in all of football. It is a record that Emmitt has held for 20+ years now and it doesn’t look like anyone will break it anytime soon.

With the Cowboys success this season, there is even more reason to honor one of the greatest players the franchise has ever had and who holds one of the top records in all of the game.

This petition is for the Cowboys to rehang Emmitt’s banner so that Cowboys and football fans of all ages can be reminded of this historic record and inspire others to what can be achieved! It’s time for Emmitt’s banner to be in its rightful place once again!
