A friend of many years has been sentenced to 28 years in federal prison. He had a drug problem, he knew one way of life, he had no one to show him different. I feel as a mother,as a daughter,a sister, a aunt I am very sure the struggle is real i have been down that road. But to sentence a young man the rest of his young days over drugs is wrong. Please for a young man to not have the resources to help himself we the people have to stand up and fight to help give him the help he needs. He isnt the only one, there are many who are sentenced before treatment. Now the law inforcement agencies have one upped us. They can prosecute without having any drugs as evidence. So now we have to be cautious of anything. We have to underatand addiction before we make laws for prosecution. It is a sickness a disease that isn't curable but managable. I want to stand up today and let out my voice i stand to make the change and fight for what i believe is right. Please stand with me grab a hand and let us be heard.
