Regulate the Sale and Usage of Loud Fireworks to Protect Public Health and Animal Welfare
The Issue
Communities across the nation face undue stress and suffering due to the overuse of loud fireworks, particularly outside of celebration days. Pets, among the most vulnerable groups, exhibit high levels of panic, with some tragically losing their lives due to the stress-induced by the loud noise. In addition to this, people with sensitive health conditions, such as unstable hearts, or those who suffer with disabilities are exposed to considerable health risks. In the United States alone, an estimated 7.9% of people suffer from a disease related to heart health (Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). We are calling for a ban on the sale of loud fireworks on non-celebration days and a limit to the amount a family can purchase. To strike a balance, it will be appropriate to allow the sale of silent fireworks during regular days. By doing so, we would not only be preserving public tranquillity but also protecting the health of millions of citizens and pets alike. The time has come to take action against the overuse and misuse of loud fireworks. Please sign this petition, urging lawmakers to enact laws that regulate the sale and usage of loud fireworks, and promote a safer, quieter environment for all.
Me as a pet owner for 3 dogs two of them suffer bad with the loud bangs such as fire worse, specially one of them more then the other he sits panting for hours dehydrating himself unable to eat and drink from how panicked he is over them and it would go on for hours and with him getting older there’s only so much stress he can take. The second dog cries and some times yelps from how scared she is.
