IF YOU CAME HERE YOU BELONG HERE. SIGN THE PETITION! LOWER OUR COSTS!!

I took a stand against SJG and I pay for what I use. As I am on SSI and cannot afford to dole out half my check for one month's gas bill, I did my research and they cannot shut me off as I pay what I can. "Good faith" payments. If I did pay my whole bill, I wouldn't be able to pay my mortgage or car insurance, as I need a place to live and I need a way to get places. The board of utilities has been no help this far, they just call SJG and I get nothing but attitude from the workers. Lets band together and take a stand. Delivery fees are just too high, and if you search average natural gas bill in NJ it says:

World events and increased demand have led to significant volatility in the natural gas commodity markets, putting upward pressure on the supply charge,” she said. “The ... (increased) rate reflects the actual cost utilities pay for natural gas, and utilities do not make any money on the supply charge.”

The latter was stressed by BPU President Joseph L. Fiordaliso, who added that utilities — by law — are allowed to recover losses from their customers when the price of gas increases.

Read more at We pay so much because...... Click the link to find out more about this. They are making decisions for us thinking they know what's best but they sit in their homes, not a worry because they have plush jobs. Not considering the fact that people on fixed incomes can't afford $400 a month gas bill. They want us assistance dependant and I'm not ok with that. Are you???

Update::::While trying to find out if New Jersey is the only state that charges 3 times the gas bill to deliver natural gas, I stumbled on a article that said.....

All of the state's natural gas supply enters New Jersey from Pennsylvania and New York, and about two-fifths of that natural gas is then shipped on to New York. Several interstate pipelines cross New Jersey and bring natural gas into New York and New England. Why do we send it back were it came from? I have yet to find he answer, but I do know that when I searched my question New Jersey was the only state that came in the results. Here's my new ga bill I had to pay 500.90 I didn't have to turn it back on a week from November 15 which is when the winter termination program starts that they can't shut you off . Now my payment plan is or the remaining balance on my bill that I can't afford.

New pipeline projects will bring natural gas produced from Pennsylvania's Marcellus Shale into the Northeast through New Jersey.48,49,50,51

In 2021, New Jersey's residential sector made up the largest share of natural gas consumption for the first time since 2014, about 35% of the state total. Seven out of ten New Jersey households use natural gas as their primary home heating fuel. The electric power sector closely followed and accounted for about 33% of the state's natural gas consumption.

This is crazy. They make so much money off this delivery charge it's disgusting and homeowners like us are left scrambling to pay our bills. It's disgusting

The residents of South New Jersey are facing an unfair and unreasonable delivery charge from South Jersey Gas. The company has been charging exorbitant fees for delivering natural gas to homes and businesses, which is causing a financial burden on the people of this region.

According to recent reports, the average delivery charge for residential customers in South Jersey is at an upward of, or over $100 per month, which is significantly higher than other regions in the state. This means that residents are paying more for their gas bills than they should be, without any justification or explanation from the company.

Furthermore, there have been instances where customers have received bills with unexpected charges that were not communicated beforehand. This lack of transparency and accountability is unacceptable and needs to be addressed immediately.

We demand that the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities regulate the delivery charges imposed by South Jersey Gas to ensure fairness and affordability for all customers in this region. The board must investigate these charges thoroughly and take necessary actions to protect consumers from being exploited by private companies like South Jersey Gas.

We urge all concerned citizens to sign this petition and join us in our fight against unjustified delivery charges imposed by private companies on innocent consumers. Let's make sure that our voices are heard loud and clear by those who have the power to bring about change!

If you are unsure how to check YOUR delivery charge, please get a copy of your bill and do the following...

Go to page number 3. Under usage costs you have customer charge (which is what you used in the month.

Then you have delivery charge. South jersey gas claims they multiply your gas usage amount by 3 and they charge that. Outrageous isnt it? You use $10 in gas you get charged almost $300 in delivery fees.

Help regulate your cost and let's stop south jersey gas from taking advantage of consumers just because they can.

REMEMBER to share this post to as many people as you can that are south Jersey gas customers. Word of mouth is everything. Thank you and have a wonderfully blessed day .

If you have seen the gas bill now, you'll notice another delivery charge on top of the bill rap one they had already. So ANOTHER delivery fee. When is it going to stop. Every other year my gas is threatened to be shut off because my bill reaches over OVER $2,000.00. I have lived in Colorado, (born and raised) Connecticut, New Hampshire, Florida, new York and now new Jersey. I never want to come back. This is the most ridiculous state I have ever seen for fees. And I feel like we aren't being taken seriously. Governor murphy sent my complaint to the board of utilities, and wrote me off. Let's see what this governor does now.

Hello Ms. Sherrill. My name is Amanda Cooper and I moved into New jersey in 2020 due to my father in law passing away. We were only supposed to be here for 5 years. In 2021 the gas prices went bananas. It was and still is virtually impossible to afford the gas to heat your home in New Jersey. I am not the only one facing this hardship. Every other year my gas is threatened to be shut off because my bill reaches over $2000.00 because the gas delivery fee is outrageous. If I use $10 I get charged over $300 for the fee resulting in a $400+ gas bill. I am disabled and permanently on social security disability income and my husband just retired. He has issues with his hands due to a accident at work when he worked at ShopRite in 2020-2022. My bill again is over $1500.00 and I'm waiting on news if I'm getting accepted for assistance. This is outrageous and I have over 2,000 people saying the same thing that signed this petition. Please. If you really want to make a change that matters address this problem. Phil murphy wrote me off and shirked his responsibilities to the citizens of South Jersey.

This is the worst state for anything associated with fees and cost of living. Check it out. I wouldn't want to be governor unless I did something to change EVERYTHING about New Jersey.

Worst state to try to live in is......NEW JERSEY
