Regulate Private School/Transport/Uniform/Books/Stationery Fees - STOP THE LOOT NOW

Regulate Private School/Transport/Uniform/Books/Stationery Fees - STOP THE LOOT NOW
The Issue
Every year the private schools all over India are increasing their Fees by 10-15 % . The school fees doubles in less than 5 years.
Benjamin Franklin wrote "An investment in knowledge pays the best interest" but this is totally misunderstood by the rich business men rightly to be called private school investment banking management.
"Education is a fundamental human right and essential for the exercise of all other human rights." Believe it or not but this is the only truth and will remain the truth no matter in which century we are living.
Education is not a privilege. It is a human right.
Education as a human right means:
> The right to education is guaranteed legally for all without any discrimination
> States have the obligation to protect, respect and fulfil the right to education
> There are ways to hold States accountable for violations or deprivations of the right to education.
Unfortunately education has become a business and our governments are acting blind.
Every school is charging exorbitantly high school fees and manipulate so much in transportation, uniform, books and stationery to make XTRA money from the caught and nabbed helpless parents.
School Fees - This has been increasing by 10-15% every year in all the schools in metro or big cities and in fact its the same situation in every city of the country. If we calculate the school fees doubles every 4 years. and you can afford this only if you salary hikes are more than 10-15 % but that's not real as companies are not growing and salaries are not increasing but school business is flourishing extraordinarily. There are new players coming into the market with their lavish packages. The education which was considered to be a fundamental human right has become a cut throat competition between the big real estate builders and business men who are investing in this new business venture. This has to STOP somewhere and TIME HAS COME NOW. The parents who have two school going children are left with nothing else to do in their lives but to keep paying school fees and other school expenses. Average salary of any engineer/doctor/clerk/government officer is near about 50k per month. And the school charges minimum 120,000 rs per child, so if you have 2 children amount becomes 240,000 rs. So just assume your 600,000 after tax cut becomes roughly 500,000 and half of it goes into education.
This is UNACCEPTABLE.
School Donations - Now this is a new game in all schools that all new admissions have to pay around 1 lakh school donation. WHAT FOR????. Even if its legitimate it can't be this high. Just imagine you got two kids and in a span of 3 years you will have to pay 1 lakh school donation for each child so it becomes 2 lakhs in three years for two children. Your net take home for 3 years could be around 15 lakhs and half of it goes into school fees and the remaining 7.5 lakh has to still bear the 2 lakh additional bill. So you remain with just 5.5 lakh in 3 years which equals to 1.8 lakhs per year and you have to survive in your life in just 15000 rs per month where you have to pay rent (can't be less than 10000 in whitefield Bangalore in any area), run your routine life in meagre 5000rs per month. I think you have no choice but take a loan which you are in no situation to pay off the EMI but bank will be able to give you loan because they do not deduct school expenses from your net worth. And this will be bad for our economy, it doesn't matter how much is the interest rate of a loan the buying potential would never increase of the middle class so economy will always remain stand still.
We have regulations in every thing but not on School Charges- WHY? The regulations are necessary in every business aspect and its healthy for the economy as well.
Please don't want reduce tax rate but regulate school fees, there has to be a norm, the schools just can't start charging whatever comes to their mind one night in the beginning of the session. Thanks God the school fees doesn't increase 2 times in a year so far, that day is also not far away if WE DO NOT ACT NOW.
School Uniform - The schools make huge money even in the uniforms. The simple sweat shirt is charged at 600 rs, a simple track pant is charged at over 600 rs, a skirt/pant is also charged around 600rs. So if I have to buy a complete school dress it costs around 3000 rs which includes shirt, pant, sweat shirt, belt, shoes, socks. And you have to buy minimum 2 pairs of school dress so 6000 rs is your bill. Every school wants different school dress on Friday or one day in a week which calls for another set of uniform which will again cost roughly 3000 rs. So in total you have to spend 9000 rs per child so 18000 for two children. The quality of the school dress that we get at such a huge price is mediocre and doesn't last more than 6 months so same expense twice in a year. In total 36000 rs we spend just on school dress for two children. Great Business Opportunity. Pls create a book on this in IIM's so that they can become a better business lootmen. We know very well if we can regulate school dresses then we can certainly provide much better school dress at 1/4th price of what being charged today.
Transportation - Even if the school is just 1 KM away from your home the school will charge minimum 24K whch goes upto 40K for a child per year to spend on transportation. So minimum 50K for two children you have to spend on transportation. If we regulate this we can bring the cost down by 70% for sure.
Books/Stationery - Every school has their own set of books and stationery to offer at much high price compared to the market rate of the rate that they have bought at considering the volume required. If this get regulated I think we can bring down the books/stationery charges by half.
I took an example 1.2 lakh school fees for a child which is actually lower amount compared to all schools in Bangalore especially in Whitefield area.
Its a loot going on, RAISE YOUR VOICE AND STOP IT NOW, else you will not be able to afford education in next 5 years. Assume fees continue increasing by 10-15 % so it will double in next 4-5 years and your salary won't double to take on this hefty sum. Even if your salary doubles your tax rates will also increase and not allow you to afford education.
Education is the fundamental human right. We are the common man and very powerful if we start exercising our RIGHT well.
A kind request pls join the protest and make it louder and louder so that it reaches right to the top and we create few rules and regulations and control these hikes in school fees and other charges.
Thanks
