I have been a Personal Support Worker (PSW) for over 5 years - I travel to clients’ homes to provide specialized care. So many jobs, such as mine, cannot be done remotely. The price of gas in Ontario is prohibitively high for so many people. We are seeing such steep rises in the cost of living. We know that salaries are not keeping up with all the increases.

The cost of food is also predicted to rise 25-30% in the next year. How are we expected to manage this?

The cost of gas has risen so dramatically that I don’t know how I can afford to keep doing my job, with so much driving required. I want to continue helping people, and I need to take care of my own family as well.

The Government of Ontario has a responsibility to regulate costs so that regular citizens are able to keep their budgets and get by. 

We are all just trying our best to keep up with cost of living increases, and our government needs to help make this possible. A solution needs to be found urgently.
