We want to create this petition to get the fireworks hours regulated in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador—the adverse effects caused by irregular and unregulated times of fireworks displays. Beloved pets in fear, some lost or passed away due to extreme stress, as well as kids and adults living with conditions such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), PTSD, and others suffer adverse reactions.

Fireworks are a source of entertainment for some, but they can also cause distress and harm to others. Organizations such as the RSPCA stress the importance of appropriately timing fireworks displays, stating that 45% of dogs show signs of fear when they hear fireworks. The prevalence of ASD in society and the sensory sensitivities these individuals often experience further necessitate this adjustment in fireworks usage.
