This petition by Mishika Singh makes pertinent points about how Delhi becomes covered with toxic fumes around Diwali, making it a huge public health risk.

I would like to make an appeal to the people of Delhi to celebrate a cracker-free and pollution-free Diwali. Making Delhi pollution free can only happen if the citizens fully believe in #FightingPollutionTogether with the Delhi Government and contribute in every way they can.

We would like to invite people to completely avoid bursting firecrackers - be it in their homes or neighbourhood, and instead, come to the mega celebration that the Delhi Government has just announced - a first of its kind, mega “Community Diwali” celebration at Connaught Place.

The people of Delhi are like family to me and this laser show aims at celebrating Diwali together like a family.

The mega Diwali Laser show at Connaught Place will take place every evening from 26th-29th October and will be accompanied with art and culture programs, and a free entry for all.

Based on the success of this show this year, the government will organize the event at various locations and on a larger scale next year.
