Why this petition matters

IIIT Bhubaneswar was initiated by the Government of Odisha and registered as a society in 2006. It started operating in September 2007. IIIT Bhubaneswar owes its origins to the initiative of the Government Odisha. In 2005, the then President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam laid down the foundation stone of the institute. The institute was registered as a society in 2006. The management of the institute is in the hands of a governing body, consisting of representatives from the government of Odisha, leaders from the IT industry, and educationists. The Institution has been converted into a unitary university by the Government of Odisha on 20th Jan 2014.

Since its inception, IIIT Bhubaneswar has been neglecting the non-teaching staffs. The non-teaching staffs are underpaid as per their qualification and responsibilities assigned. They are in a contractual position since the beginning. No provisions were being made for the regularisation of the non-teaching staff or to increase their salary. Whereas the faculties/ teaching staff are getting salary as per the market value and since July 2020 they are being paid  7th Central Pay Commission (7CPC).

When approached to the Management they are threatening us to leave the organization. We need your support to bring a change in IIIT Bhubaneswar. Support us by signing a petition.

Thanks & Regards
