Registering the birth and death of a neonate or stillborn less traumatic
The Issue
As some people are aware our beautiful selfless brave son was born on the 04:10:23 at 36 weeks gestation but by the 06:10:23 Theo had changed colour and collapsed it was the worst experience of our lives , Theo appeared genetically and structurally healthy and gave us four beautiful days with him he was alive at birth and met his selfless 5 year old sister and beautiful older 2 year old brother I was feeding him and so in love ,the house was prepared and our family was so excited for the time he would be coming home unfortunately we had to tell our beautiful daughter at 5 years old that her littlest brother wasn’t going to be coming home it broke us ,it is a rare case of no signs of why after thorough tests and investigation , it was a devastating 12 week wait for answers we were told Theo’s case is very rare but those memories and the outlook he has given us to make every moment count and to continue to fight for the aftercare and registry process to be less traumatising means everything to us
As Theo’s parents we have been unable to physically register Theo’s birth as we have found having to go to the registering office very distressing ,
we want it to be legislation and part of the process for bereaved parents and families like ourselves to be able to register their babies at the hospital before leaving so it is one less thing to dread and have to endure ,
If this process doesn’t change more families will be affected and babies who deserve to be registered will be having their process delayed , losing a baby is enough torture let alone the aftermath of relentless tasks that are too hard to even comprehend ,
Please sign this petition so families like ourselves do not have to go through the torture of registering their beautiful babies who are no longer with us in the traditional way , we still haven’t been able to face registering Theo’s beautiful birth and it means so much to us to get this changed going forward so people who are already suffering enough do not endure more pain ,
