The Issue

GOVERNOR O'MALLEY: FIRE THE REGULATORS... REJECT RATE HIKES... FIX PEPCO! #FIGHTFORPOWER

On June 29, a powerful storm swept through Maryland. Days later, thousands of people still are without power; businesses are still shuttered; and traffic signals are still out.

We pay our PEPCO bills. Yet, we get some of the worst service in the nation. It's time to take a stand.

Governor Martin O'Malley appoints the people who regulate our power companies. They serve on the "Public Services Commission."

It's time for the Governor to fire every one of his commissioners and replace them with people who will keep the power on. Governor O'Malley needs to take responsibility for fixing the utility crisis that is damaging our state.

You and I pay our bills on time. Meanwhile, PEPCO and other utilities pay record compensation to their executives while providing abysmal service -- and they get away with it.

If PEPCO and their like get a rate hike, they will make us pay even more for their mistakes.  No more rate hikes until service is fixed. Make the utilities pay for their own neglect, not the residents.

This petition targets the Governor because he is the only one who can make the difference. He has the power while our homes are without power.
