Regal, please give the additional resources as requested by the NHS and Police
The Issue
Petition to Barnet Council and Regal London.
Regal wants to build 1,502 homes in buildings up to 25 storeys in the Great North Leisure Park, North Finchley. However they have recently refused to provide additional funds to finance healthcare and policing needs to meet the additional burdens this development would place on local facilities.
The proposed development will cost £864 million so why can’t Regal invest in the community by providing the additional resources as requested by the Police and the NHS?
Specifically:
A Police request for a space at a nominal rent to help Police the area was refused by Regal.
A request by NHS London for additional funds of £570,760 to increase NHS capacity in the area was also refused by Regal.
Link to the source document showing the correspondence between Regal’s consultants and Barnet Council dated 10th July 2025 showing these requests, why they were made and the reasons behind Regals' refusals.
These details are on page 5 and the bottom of page 6. Some parts of the report are redacted.
The planning reference for this development is 25/0213/FUL and the site location is the Great North Leisure Park.
We object to this development and we request that Barnet Council refuse planning permission for it if Regal London fails to supply the additional resources as requested by the NHS and Police.
