Refuse AI Data Center at Ventura Fairgrounds
The Issue
We’ll keep this concise.
We, the people of Ventura County, fully, absolutely, and with certainty reject the any proposal to build, install, or place, any AI data center at the Ventura County, and by extension, the Ventura County Fairgrounds.
Tech companies use a Trojan horse proposal to highlight the “benefits” to the area of allowing them to proceed, and then use loopholes and lawsuits to achieve their original objective. Their only intention is profit over people, environment, and resources.
This is clearly illustrated by the data center that committed to not using any water from the Colorado river, and are now advancing lawsuits to force access to 260 million gallons a year.
Until the effects of AI and Data centers have been thoroughly studied and proper regulations and guardrails put in place, there is no room for discussion on building data centers.
We demand that the VC Fairground Board of Directors reject any proposal or further discussion regarding any data center installed on the fairgrounds and surrounding area or structures.
