Charlie moved on to Central Hill Estate three years ago and faced living in a home with her three children without the use of basic facilities, such as an unblocked additional toilet and sink, or a shower that doesn't leak into the kitchen.
HfL and Lambeth say they are building for the homeless. This is not the case. The council refuse to give her a new bathroom, refuse to give her a permanent status, and you can see the detrimental effect this is having on her quality of life.
Demolition doesn't mean more and better homes for the homeless. It means more empty homes and disrepair as money is spent buying back homes to knock down and build mainly unaffordable commodity properties to be sold on the open market.
Please share widely, the voice of the temporarily-housed needs to be heard.
