As a dedicated members of the South African Students Congress (SASCO) BEC at the University of Cape Town (UCT), We have witnessed first-hand the urgent need for a comprehensive overhaul of the catering services in our campus residences. Daily, students are confronted with meals that not only lack nutritional value but are also inconsistent in quality and quantity. The state of catering provided to those of us who reside within the university is simply unacceptable. It is high time that we take a stand and demand improvements in the catering services we receive.

According to our recent res visits conducted amongst UCT students residing in university catering residences, many have expressed dissatisfaction with the current catering service quality. Complaints ranged from poor meal variety to rotten food. It's crucial for the university administration to listen to these concerns and take immediate steps to address them.
