Domestic violence is a pervasive issue that affects countless individuals and families in Pennsylvania. To better support victims, we call for changes to Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes. These changes should direct funding to domestic violence shelters following the conviction of any crime within the domestic violence category. Additionally, stiffer penalties must be implemented for those convicted of failing to comply with protection from abuse orders, moving these matters from civil to criminal court.
